
Luis Perez studied at the Jersey City Public Schools, Jersey City State College (currently known as New Jersey City University), Yale Divinity School, and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He has written about immigration, sports, zoning laws, and policy issues, among other topics, for the mainstream media in New Jersey and then in Connecticut.
He traveled to the Holy Land in order to write about the role of religion as part of a student-journalism course at Columbia. He works as a pastor and lives with his family in Rhinebeck, New York.
